APRE NEWS
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Ash Wednesday: Last Wednesday, Fr Michael spent time with each class to focus on the meaning behind Ash Wednesday and Lent. With the younger grades he spent time in the classroom and the older students met him at St Pat's Cathedral. He used the children's text, The Flower Man which has illustrations but no text, as a prompt for discussion about how we can bring about change/ joy/ light into the lives of others. Thank you Fr Michael for spending the day with us.
SACRAMENTAL PROGRAM: 56 students are preparing to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation as part of the St Pat's Sacramental Program. Of these, approx 42 are students from SSPS, mainly in Year 4. Please continue to keep these students and their families in your prayers.
First Reconciliation: Friday 29 March at 6pm or Saturday 30 March at 10am.
SCHOOL/ PARISH MASS: As you would have seen via Caremonkey, this Sunday is St Patrick's Day and also our Term One School/ Parish Mass where we have the students involved in all the "jobs" for Mass. At this Mass, Bishop Robert will be blessing/ rededicating the statue of St Patrick which has been recently reburbished and replaced. We would love to have you and the family there!
ROSIES (Our Neighbours): As I mentioned in the previous newsletter, we are building connections with Rosies, next door. In our upcoming Service Activities in Week 10, Year 6s are compiling "Bathroom Bags" with personal care products and Year 3 are doing some baking. Earlier this week Maya (1L) presented her donations of non- perishable goods (2 bags full) to Fay Stein, the Rosies' Coordinator.
