Dear Parents
Next week our school is proudly taking part in the national ‘Bullying No Way!' Week of action, celebrating the theme Be Bold. Be kind. Speak Up. It is a powerful reminder that every student, teacher and family member plays a part in creating a safe and respectful school community. Teachers will explore the following themes with students:
- Speaking up against bullying doesn’t mean getting into a fight. It means taking action in safe and supportive ways to help someone in need;
- Kindness isn’t just about big gestures – it can be the small things we do every day. A smile, a kind word, or inviting someone to join your group can completely change someone’s day;
- “Speak Up” reminds us that everyone can make a difference;
- Being bold doesn’t mean putting yourself in danger—it means choosing to do what’s right.
Students, teachers, families, and friends standing up, speaking out, and supporting each other are important ways to create a protective environment against bullying. Every positive action we all take—no matter how small—can help create a safer, kinder school and community.
If parents ever have any concerns around bullying behaviour, please reach out to your child’s teacher and/or leadership.
Naplan Results
Every year ACARA (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority) release State and National average scale scores and proficiency percentages from the Naplan assessments. This helps schools to consider their collective and comparative performance in the assessments, looking for areas of strength and areas for improvement that can drive future teaching and learning plans and goals.
2025 results:
Year 3 results
- Average scale score was above the state and national average scale scores in all areas.
- Well above state and national proficiency standards. Of note were our Reading and Writing results with 77.11% of students proficient in reading and 87.8% of students in proficient in writing. Proficient in a domain would mean the student has achieved either in the strong or exceeding.
Year 5 results
- Average scale score was above state and national scale score average in Reading, Writing and Grammar and Punctuation.
- Reading results were a great achievement with 89% of students proficient in the reading domain (achieving either strong or exceeding) and well above national and state proficiency standards.
- Growth data when comparing results from Year 3 (2023) to Year 5 revealed outstanding growth in the grammar and punctuation and writing domains.
